"Not Alone" by Red

"Not Alone"
Slowly fading away
You're lost and so afraid
Where is the hope in a world so cold?
Looking for a distant light
Someone who could save a life
You're living in fear that no one will hear your cries
Can you save me now?

I am with you
I will carry you through it all
I won't leave you, I will catch you
When you feel like letting go
'Cause you're not, you're not alone

Your heart is full of broken dreams
Just a fading memory
And everything's gone but the pain carries on
Lost in the rain again
When will it ever end?
The arms of relief seem so out of reach
But I, I am here

I am with you
I will carry you through it all
I won't leave you, I will catch you
When you feel like letting go
'Cause you're not, you're not alone

And I'll be your hope when you feel like it's over
And I will pick you up when your whole world shatters
And when you're finally in my arms
Look up and see love has a face

I am with you
I will carry you through it all
I won't leave you, I will catch you
When you feel like letting go
'Cause you're not, you're not alone

And I will be your hope
You're not alone
And I will pick you up
And I will be your hope
And I will be your hope

Slowly fading away
You're lost and so afraid
Where is the hope in a world so cold

This is a great song by Red. It's great because it really does speak to everyone! You are never alone, no matter where you are, God is there waiting for you to run to him! He will never leave us. This song really does capture the motives of God in a way. Its really saying that: I can handle your issues and problems by taking you old self and throwing it away so I can give you something so much better! If you ever get the chance, listen to it on YouTube. I know this is really random, but I really love this song and thought everyone should listen to it! :)

Lake Refuge

We just got back from our vacation. It was so nice to spend a few days with dear friends and get a break from reality. Our weekend was filled with relaxing, boat rides, fishing, chatting, and having fun! We (the girls in the house) did a few lessons of a webinar from the Botkin Sisters called Reclaiming Beauty, I highly recommend it! You can check that out at visionarydaughters.com.
It was so great to go to sleep the first night and have your ears ringing because there was NO noise! Then my brother jumped off the boat into the freezing cold lake, and most of us went kayaking. It was then that I figured out that your lower body gets wet. :) Though I got a little wet, I dont regret doing that with my eldest brother.
These were the stairs (in our backyard) that lead down to the lake. :)
This was the view of the lovely landscape while we were on our boat ride.
Me and my big brother kayaking at sunset! :)
After we packed and cleaned the house, we went downtown and had an amazing meal at a little diner, then went and did a little shopping. :)
This was the trading store (essentially a thrift store), where my mom and I bargained for a necklace. :) I love little towns!

What were some fun things you did recently!?

Apple Picked!

We went Apple Picking!

Last Saturday we went apple picking! It was my first time going to pick apples so I had a fun time! I hope it is our new fall tradition! Not to mention I made a record of climbing up a tree in a skirt, our friends were impressed! I dont have any pictures of my outfit that day but imagine this: A long denim skirt, black leggings, brown boots, blue/brown plaid shirt and a brown belt, hair in a pony tail...Cute right?!

This was a bee house (i have no clue what they are called), i also loved all the "country like" details of the rusty wheel and things like that.
There were a lot of people there, it was a very busy Saturday for sure!

YUM! We picked about 50lbs of apples that day! My mom canned some of them, we have made apple crisps, and had them as snacks! They are amazing!

We also stopped on the way home at this cute little town. I wish I took more pictures of it but this was the train tracks that went right through the town.

I will post more post more often next time!

"Before you meet Prince Charming" by Sarah Mally. Book Study update chapter 2!

Hey Guys!
Im sorry i havent posted, with school and drivers ed next week things have been crazy!
Im updating you on chapter 2 of our book study!
Chapter 2 "Dangers With the Dating System"
One of my favorite chapters! This one talks about young people's motives behind dating.
People will often date for a fun experience now with out putting any commitment in it. I challenge you to asking yourself why do you date? Are your intentions for getting married? If they are, are you in the position to be a wife? Often times, people will date with the intentions to break up (we have to make sure to try every guy out to make sure he is "the one"), this seems like practice for divorce rather than a healthy relationship.

Make it your goal this week: Instead of flirting with guys or trying to get attention, focus on serving you siblings and parents. Dig into the Word of God, He is always there to chat with you! Ask Him how he thinks about your dating. What did He say? Make it your goal to be a servant this week!

Make sure to comment or contact me if you have any questions or prayer requests!

Before You meet Prince Charming By Sarah Mally Book study! Chapter 1 (overview)

Hi Guys! I am so happy to be starting this study on my blog for the first time! I am leading a book study with some young ladies and their mothers from our church. Im really enjoying it and I think the subject of guy/girl relationship needs to be spoken about. The Lord desires the very best man for us ladies, we need to take him at his word and have faith! Thanks for following me on this study! Please feel free to ask me questions and let me know what you think about it!

Before you meet Prince Charming by Sarah Mally book study!
Chapter 1: Desire the Very Best for Marriage .

This chapter talks about Safeguards to imbrace. So many young people waste time on boyfriends/girlfriends. We dont trust that God will bring our future spouses to us. Think of it like this, you are a Christian and you believe that Jesus was a real guy and he died on the cross, but you dont believe that he can bring Mr Right along. Its a weird cycle we go through. We have to make sure he is the right guy, so we "try people out". With this constant cycle comes broken hearts, scars and pain! The thing I always tell young ladies is this : You are so worth waiting for! God has someone very special for you! Why settle for something when God and an AWESOME person, and he waiting for the right moment to send him your way!
Teenagers want the  short excitment and pleasure in the moment, rather than waiting for an eternal partner!
I desire a great marriage when i get married. I dont know anyone who wouldnt. In order for this to happen, i want to be pure going into a marriage, so i can bring my best! On of the moms in my book study said it like this "I want to be a clean white cloth, not an dirty, ripped, and spotted cloth." The spots and rips being past relationships.
There is a section in the book where Sarah states a list of things she believes in, so you know what her background in writing the book is.
She is a Christian
She thinks boy/girl relationships are an issue
She wants to make a difference in the previous reason

Memory Verse: "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is com, and his wife hath made herself ready" Revelation 19:7

Let me know what you think about guy/girl relationships! What issues do you think should change?

Mali's Peppermint Sugar Cookies

Mali's Peppermint Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar another 1/2 cup for rolling the dough
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 egg
2 tablespoon of milk
1 teaspoon of peppermint flavoring
Hersheys Peppermint kisses

Method:
Pre-heat oven for 400. In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, combine all the wet ingredients. With the mixer on low, slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet until fully combined. In a small bowl add your extra 1/2 cup of sugar. Scoop the dough and roll into balls. Roll in the sugar and place on a cookie sheet. Bake for 11-13 minutes. When they are still warm place an unwrapped peppermint kiss in the middle of the cookie and enjoy!

Easy Scarf Tutorial

I took an old shirt that had some holes in it and made it into a scarf. All you need is a shirt (mine has lace on the back) and a pair of scissors.

You want to cut right under the arms.

It should come out to look like mine! Lace and stripe scarf. Why throw away a shirt when you can re-use it! :)
By the way, I will get to the book study soon. Make sure and tune in! If you have any questions, i would love to answer some!

I just turned my old small jeans into a skirt!

Hey yall! Turn an old, too small pair of jeans into a cute skirt! I will make a tutorial later! It was really easy, it took about 2 hours (my sewing matchine was giving me greif), so you could make it even quicker!

Like I said, I will publish a tutorial shortly, this is how mine looks in the end! Be sure to comment if you have any questions!
Thanks for visiting my Blog! My goal for this is to encourage young ladies to go against the flow of society and imbrace a life of grace, modesty, and courage! I hope you enjoy!
